Most lessons are held at my home, where I have a dedicated studio with a grand piano. The studio is separated from the rest of the house, and is practically distraction-free; it is truly an excellent environment for teaching and learning piano! Travel lessons are also available, though at very limited availability.
For parents researching piano lessons for your child / children, please know that the beginning stages of learning are crucial to cultivating good habits and fundamentals down the road. Without the guidance of an experienced teacher, your child could easily develop bad habits that are very difficult to correct later on - I know this for a fact, since I was never taught the right fundamentals as a child, and had to spend years correcting them afterwards. With the exception of early beginners, students are encouraged to perform at student recitals twice every year (click here for sample performances from past recitals). Eligible students can also participate in certification programs, which is a very rewarding way of keeping students motivated. Parental involvement is not only welcomed but strongly encouraged - feel free to sit in on your child's lessons!
If you are an adult looking to learn piano, know that I am a very detail-oriented teacher, and will patiently answer whatever questions you might have. I understand full well that adult students have many other obligations, and I am happy to work around them as long as you are willing to learn! In addition, I have taught a variety of music styles, so rest assured that together, we will find a teaching style that best suits your needs. Recitals are not required for adult students, and I do have adult students who perform occasionally (scroll of the bottom of this page for an adult student performance).
